In 2016, a few students from Boston-area theological schools along with people from other greater-Boston queer communities began thinking about what a queer-centered* Christian space would look like. One participant, Taj Smith, knew that something needed to be in place. He remembered how transformative it was for him to have a queer bible study in the past. He combined elements from his previous experience with some of the ideas from the informal conversations to bring Biblical Queeries (BQ) to life. In 2017, BQ held its first meeting.
